COMMUTER BENEFITS

Overview

Versiti is pleased to announce a new offering for full- and part-time employees. A Commuter Benefit is an account that allows you to set aside pre-tax funds to pay for mass transit expenses related to commuting to work—and this helps you save money!

Under the Commuter Benefit description, mass transit includes public transportation, such as bus, train, monorail, subway and vanpool expenses (if the vehicle seats at least six adults, excluding the driver).

Versiti is working with Fidelity—already one of our trusted partners–to provide this benefit.

Here’s how it works:

  • Enroll through Fidelity at http://www.netbenefits.com/atwork. You will receive a separate debit card for this benefit.
  • If you enroll by the 12th of the month, the pre-tax deduction will come out of the last paycheck of the month.

Please see the attached Commuter Benefit information, FAQs and Guide on How to Enroll.

If you have additional questions on how this benefit will work or how to access funds once you enroll, please contact Fidelity at 833-299-5089.

If you have questions about how the pre-tax deduction will work, please contact HR4You@versiti.org.

Q: How do I enroll in transit benefits?

A: If you are a full or part-time employee, you can enroll on NetBenefits. Simply log on and select the “Flexible Spending and Reimbursement Accounts” tile. Then, under “Your Current Benefits,” select “Enroll.” You must enroll by the 12th of the month to have funds available the next month.

Q: Can I update my election amount?

A: Election amounts can be updated month to month. Simply log in to NetBenefits and select the “Flexible Spending and Reimbursement Accounts” tile. Under “Your Current Benefits,” select “ Transit.” Hover over “Accounts” in the upper menu bar and select

“Account Summary.” Select the “+” icon beside your transit account, then select “Update Election.” Changes must be made by the 12th of the month to be effective for the last pay date of the month.

Q: When are my funds available?

A: Funds are available as they are contributed to your account. Deductions will occur on the lasy pay date of each month.

Q: How do I use the funds available in my commuter account?

A: Your commuter funds are loaded to a NetBenefits CommuterCard® Fidelity will mail you a card within 5-7 business days of when you complete your online election. You can use the card to pay for your commuting expenses.

The amount of funds on your card must cover the full balance of your purchase or the transaction will be declined. Make sure to file any Commuter claims within 180 days of the incurred expense.

Q: How can I check my commuter balance?

A: Log on to NetBenefits and select the “Flexible Spending and Reimbursement Accounts” tile. Under “Your Current Benefits,” select “Transit”. Your current balance displays on this page. If you have several reimbursement accounts, you may need to move farther down the page to view each balance.

Q: How can I unenroll in commuter benefits as an active employee?

A: To cancel your enrollment, log in to NetBenefits and select the “Flexible Spending and Reimbursement Accounts” tile. Under “Your Current Benefits,” select “Transit.” From there, follow the instructions for updating your commuter enrollment.

Your NetBenefits CommuterCard® will no longer work for mass transit. You can continue to submit mass transit claims for a set amount of time determined by your employer, also known as the run-out period.

Q: What if I have funds remaining at the end of the year?

A: You are required to re-enroll at the end of the year. At the end of the
year, funds will automatically roll over to the new year. Refer to your
commuter enrollment material from your employer for more details.

Q: What happens if I terminate employment?

A: If employment is terminated, your NetBenefits CommuterCard will be deactivated, and you will have a run-out period of 180 days to submit mass transit claims incurred while you were still actively employed. Your employer determines the length of the run-out period. After the run-out period ends, any remaining funds in your account are forfeited back to your employer.

Q: How do I order a replacement debit card?

A: Debit cards can be reported lost/stolen and reordered online or by calling a Fidelity phone associate at 883-299-5089.
